New Super Mario Forever 2012 looks and feels just like the real deal, even down to the music. Though it takes far too long to set up and there are a few kinks, it's a great way to get your Mario fix. If you like gaming on your computer, it beats dusting off the old Nintendo or paying big bucks for the original games on eBay.
During installation, this game will try to change your homepage and search to Bing. Make sure you opt out of that if you don't want it. The game takes a while to install and displays an error unless you run it as an administrator. Even if you're logged in as the administrator account, it makes you right-click and choose "Run as administrator." The game does play smoothly once you've finally set it up. It even runs with premier graphics and sound on computers with older processors. If you didn't know any better, you'd believe New Super Mario Forever 2012 was made by Nintendo. The only unprofessional elements are the frequent instances of broken English. The really smooth gameplay and abundance of levels make up for that, though. Super Mario Blue Twilight DX

Blue Twilight has been made as the unofficial continuation of the last Mario game under the pretence that just as the Italian plumber saved the princess once again, she was snatched away by a ghostly figure that Mario must now find and thwart.
As you make your way through the game you'll notice Mario making some strange sound effects whether he's celebrating finding a mushroom or jumping in any of a variety of ways.The system for his power level is taken from Mario 3D and works by giving him six "strikes", in the form of segments in a circle, before losing a life.
We would have preferred to see the traditional system whereby the hero grows by eating mushrooms and shrinks when hit by an enemy, but then again, segments work too.
One of the things that make the Super Mario games what they are is the movement and abilities of the characters. In this respect Blue Twilight strays slightly away, with the result that it doesn't quite feel like you are playing Mario but some other, clunkier impostor.For example, the clone "Mario Forever" hits the spot when it comes to character physics and so feels like the real deal, making it that bit more playable.
Nonetheless, Blue Twilight is fun to play and will appeal to most fans if not for the gameplay then for the unmistakable Nintendo-style music.

Icy Tower

Icy Tower is a popular freeware computer game by the Swedish game developer Free Lunch Design. This is a platform game that is set in a tower and the player's goal is to climb as high in the tower as possible without falling off the bottom of the screen. The higher the character climbs the faster the tower's floors move downward and hence the more difficult the game becomes. By default, the player controls the character using a keyboard.

The player starts the game on the ground floor of the tower. In order to climb the tower, the player must jump from floor to floor, an action controlled (by default) using the spacebar. The game character can pass through the floors of the tower from below but will land on them when falling from above. Once the player has landed on a floor, he can move across its surface using the arrow keys. By moving across the floor the player builds momentum, and the more momentum a player builds up the higher his next jump will be. The character can also bounce off the vertical walls on the left and right edges of the tower, allowing the player to switch direction while maintaing momentum.

If a player builds enough momentum, he can climb several floors at once in a single jump. Extended sequences of such multi-floor jumps are referred to in the game as combos. A combo ends when a player makes a jump which covers only one floor, falls off a floor and lands on a lower floor, or fails to make a jump within a certain time frame (about 3 seconds).

The floors of the tower begin to move slowly downward once the character reaches floor 5. Every thirty seconds after this initial movement, the downward motion of the floors increases in speed, and the game tells the player to "Hurry up!" Should the player miss a floor and fall off the bottom of the screen, the game will end. The game also ends if the player is standing on a floor and the floor moves off the bottom of the screen.

The goal of the player is to reach the highest possible floor and accumulate the highest possible number of points. Points are awarded based on the highest floor reached in the game as well as for the player's combos.

The tower is of infinite height and it is impossible to reach the top.

Beginning with a cutscene in a space lab, I was instantly greeted with a very brightly animated scene between two lab professors who discussed of a secret project. The cutscene showed the test being conducted, failing, and somehow creating an unknown creature, which was sent to be disposed of. However, the cutscene later shows it landing on Earth.

                                                                              
Instantly this brought back memories of the 16-bit SNES. The brightly colored outdoor environments reminded me of Super Mario World on the spot, and while not in the same direction as a platformer, most definitely holds its own as a very unique side scroller. The accompanying sound effects and music are a very nice addition and blend well with the game, making for a great overall presentation.

Your basic moves include using the arrow keys to move and jump, and space to throw a stone that can take out enemies, retrieve gems (collected for score and other bonuses). You have a health bar and energy bar in the upper right corner, easily visible yet out of the way, along with a gem counter. The energy bar is used for special moves, such as springing off the ground while running to jump even higher and further, and bouncing off of walls to reach new heights. They both conveniently recharge after time, making the gameplay move fast, but helping out less experienced gamers at the same time.

The difficulty level is rather low to begin with, although it does pick up later on. Some of the basic enemies will take two hits with the stone to kill, and as you reach into the later levels, they begin picking up in speed, following Glace, and even throwing projectiles at him. However, I would still say this is playable for most people - friendly enough for the younger gamers yet addicting for the more matured.

Overall, this is a great freeware platformer. The very inviting appearance makes for a fun, catchy game, and it spans 4 worlds with a total of 12 levels. This game is highly recommended.
